Matthew graduated with his AA degree in electronics technology. He began a career in computer chip manufacturing as a line maintenance technician at NEC.

There, he learned how to troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment and perform repair procedures in electrical wiring and electronics, as well as in air-powered, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and in MS DOS and other computer programs.

After 3 years there, he left to work in the Industrial electrical field, where he learned commercial lighting and all other phases of commercial electrical troubleshooting and installation.

In 2005, Matthew studied for his CA contractor’s license and passed the exam to become a licensed electrical contractor. It was at this time that he founded Saxelby Electric because he saw how great a field it was for a career.
